I have a 2004 Saturn Ion that I am the original owner of. In the last year I have had my power steering fail on me many times, many of them on the highway going 60 miles per hour. Very Very frightening. I have to steer the car with no power steering until I can exit the highway slowly. By removing and putting back the power steering fuse it will reset. If I need to make a correction to avoid another car I would never be able to do it. It has been stressful because I never know when it will happen. I am frightened it may happen at night, I drive alone 98% of the time.
I also have replaced my ignition switch once already. I recently received the recall notice for this part which stated there was no corrective part available yet. I have been having problems starting my car in the last year as well. Just this week I have had a dead battery 5 times. There is no explanation for the battery being dead except the switch is never completely in the off position and continues to drain the battery. I have read that many other people are experiencing the same issue. Again I am afraid to even use the car, never knowing where I may not be able to start the car. It may sound silly but my dog loves to travel with me to do errands and I cannot take him anymore because of this. I live in florida and if he were to be with me in the heat and I got stuck it could be quite detrimental to him.

I cannot afford another car. I only have 78000 miles on my car. It is paid for and I planned to be able to drive this car for at least another 75000-100000 miles with no payment. I have not been physically injured in an accident due to these issues….yet. Is there anything I can do?

DO NOT CALL, in 2013 I was in a car accident with my 2004 saturn icon…the passenger side was hit and the air bag did go off but the driver side air bag ripped in half and i received all the powder in my face and lungs.the ignitiion did turn off but in my case it was good as there was gas leaking from the impact .I did lose a tooth that was previous worked on.Dental will not cover, car insurance will not cover…how does my dentist get monies owe him for his services…also i would like damage for my mouth injury etc can i just do a claim thru gm

I was at a full stop on Highway 8 in San Diego. I was hit from behind and pushed into the truck in front of me. The car, s 2006 Saturn Vie, was totaled and I ended up in the hospital
with extensive neck injuries which required surgery. I know have a plate and 8 screws in my neck and left with $120k in medical bills. No airbags went off during these hits. I also lost my car because the insurance bluebooked it less than I owed.
Any help is appreciated,

I have a 2004 Saturn Ion that has had brake issues, the dealer let me leave the dealership with a gas leak (now recall) and with a drive shaft issue (now recall) and now I have a leak in that wonderful transmission. I payed out of pocket over 1,000.00 in repairs and still have all the above issues. I took it in for the recall on the ignition and its starting to act up again. I am a senior 68 years old who lives on social security. I have taken it in for repair and could n’t afford the 2100.00 cost and left the last dealership. Now better yet they let me leave with a gas leak. I can prove I got the oil changed every 3, 000 miles since I purchased the automobile as I knew I had to take care of it as it would be the last car I would be able to afford. I am so frustrated. Corroded fuel line, and catalic converter, transmission now, stering problems again 3rd time. Anybody that has any resolve to this awful problem please help!!!!
