Subaru car company issued a recall statement today on its 2011 Subaru Outback for defective puddle lamps. Subaru announced that the recall would impact over 633,842 vehicles. The issue involves a short circuiting fuse in the puddle light, which could cause the vehicle to catch on fire. Models in question include the Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Subaru Tribeca and Subaru Forester models. The fire hazard can occur when moisture which contains road salt infuses with the lamp and makes contact with the circuit board. A vehicle fire can cause significant injuries and those with the above models are urged to have the problem corrected. While there are not incidents of injury reported as of yet customers are still urged to have the issue checked out to avoid potential injuries.
