This week GM announced a recall of close to 60,000 Aura in the United States and Canada because of faulty automatic transmission shifters resulting in accidents. The 2006 and 2007 model Aura are the only vehicles that have been recalled. The auto manufacturer sates that the Auras can unexpectedly roll away because the driver may think the car is in “Park” when in reality it is in another gear.  General Motors is aware of 28 accidents and 4 injuries and zero deaths related to the defect. However hundreds more accidents may have been partially caused by the defect.
