Gree Dehumidifier Recall Attorney

Recently, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission reaffirmed an earlier recall of a substantial number of dehumidifiers manufactured by Gree Electric Appliances of China.  The recall was issued after serious safety and fire hazards associated with the dehumidifier.  Specifically, there have been hundreds of incidences of overheating and catching fire. According to the USCPS, the Gree Humidifiers are responsible for nearly $6.65 million in property damage alone, with  hundreds of incidences reported.  The real damage however is very likely several times the reported number, as over 2.5 million units have been sold in the United States alone.  Most consumers who have suffered probably are never aware that their fires were started due to the humidifiers. The Gree Dehumidifiers are sold under several different labels, including De’Longhi, GE, Kenmore, Frigidaire, Seabreaze, SoleusAir, Danby, Fedders, Fellini, Norpole and SuperClima.  Furthermore, because of the large dealer base, they can be found at a multitude of stores, such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Sam’s Club, Sears and Walmart. Most alarmingly is that most consumers are uninformed about the grave fire hazard lurking in their home.  If you own one of these humidifiers, it is advised that you remove it from the power source immediately.
