BeyondMedShop Vaunn Medical Bed Assist Rail Recall Class Action Lawsuit
On March 9, 2023, BeyondMedShop issued a recall for their Vaunn Medical Bed Assist Rail adult bed rails. According to the recall, number 23-151, the product represents an entrapment risk. More specifically, when the bed rails are attached at a bed, users can become entrapped wither within the bed rail or between the bed rail and the side of the mattress. Entrapment can result in many injuries and can even be fatal – specifically due to asphyxiation.
The recall affects approximately 102,000 units of the product. The following models of the product are affected:
- M876N-AAWH-APVM –bed rail made of a white metal tubing and has a rectangular black foam rubber grip handle.
- M876N-SABK-APVM – bed rail made of black metal tubing with a rounded black foam rubber grip handle and a fabric pouch.
Model numbers are located on a label that is on the grip handle of the bed rails.
The affected bed rails were sold online from December 2018 to December 2022 for prices ranging from $40 to $80. They were available at BeyondMedShop.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, and eBay.com.
According to the recall, no incidents or injuries have been reported.
The company is urging all affected consumers to stop using the bed rails and contact them for a free repair.
