Quality Bicycle Products Recall Class Action Lawsuit
On January 5, 2023, Quality Bicycle Products (QBP) recalled around 8,740 units of their bicycles and handlebars. The recalled handlebars include the Salsa Cowbell, the Salsa Cowchipper, and Whisky No.9 24F, and Whisky No.9 12F carbon handlebars. These handlebars were sold with the Salsa Cutthroat, Warroad, and Warbird bikes, which have also been recalled by the company.
The handlebars are prone to cracking around the brake/shift levers and cause the rider to lose their balance or control of the bike. Crashes and other serious accident are more than likely in these situations, and the manufacturer has advised all consumers to stop using the bikes / handlebars immediately. QBP is offering replacement handlebars of a free installation service at a local bicycle retailer.
