Goalsetter Basketball Goal Recall Class Action Lawsuit

Goalsetter Basketball Goal Recall Class Action Lawsuit lawyer sue incident accident defect liability

Around 18,000 wall-mounted basketball goals by Goalsetter are being recalled due to a defect that can cause the unit to detach from the wall. This puts users and innocent bystanders at risk of serious injury or death. The recalled models include the Goalsetter Adjustable and Fixed Wall Mount Series, along with the GS Baseline Series 48-inch, 54-inch, 60-inch, and 72-inch wall-mounted goal systems. They were sold from November 1999 through June 2022 at basketball equipment stores and SCHEELS stores nationwide, and online through Amazon.com, Target.com, Walmart, com, Dicksportinggoods.com, and Competitiveedgeproducts.com/.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has asked consumers to stop using the goals immediately. They can also contact Goalsetter to remove the recalled basketball goals and issue a full refund or reinstall the goal with additional safety brackets. However, this remedy doesn’t address the fact that a 14-year-old boy in Granger, Indiana was killed from one of these goals falling on him. The manufacturer has also received four accident reports resulting in a fractured leg and severe facial injuries.

If you or your loved one was harmed by this product, you are entitled to seek monetary damages from the manufacturer, such as medical expenses, pain and suffering, and lost wages. What to do if There has been an Accident

Due to the severe injuries that can be caused by this product, immediate medical attention should be your first priority. If the injuries are not life-threatening, try to gather as much evidence as possible by taking photos or video of the accident scene and any physical injuries. In addition, ask witnesses for written statements or get their contact information so that your lawyer can reach out to them later.
