TJX Menorah Recall Class Action Lawsuit

TJX Menorah Recall Class Action Lawsuit liability lawyer attorney sue danger risk fire hazard compensation sue

On February 23, 2022, TJX issued a recall for their Festive Lights Hanukkah Menorahs. According to the recall, number 22-086, the menorahs can burn or catch fire when holding lit candles; this, of course, represents a fire hazard. The recall has affected approximately 7,900 units of the product.

The recall includes the resin and medium-density fiberboard (MFD) menorahs; they have inserts for nine candles. The menorahs were sold in the following shapes/styles:

  • Llama
  • Brontosaurus
  • Stegosaurus
  • T-rex
  • Castle
  • Rainbow
  • Rainbow platform
  • Emojis

The menorahs came with a white hangtag with the text “Festive Lights Hanukkah Menorah” and an image of a blue/silver menorah.

The recall includes the menorahs with the following style numbers:

  • 262933
  • 263407
  • 263417
  • 262950
  • 856166
  • 856168
  • 856179
  • 856182
  • 856189
  • 856192
  • 856262
  • 856266

The style numbers can be found printed on a label on the bottom of the product.

According to the recall, there have been at least three reports of the menorahs burning or catching on fire, although no injuries or property damage have been reported.

The menorahs were sold at Marshalls, HomeGoods, and Homesense stores around the U.S. from November 2021 to January 2022. They were sold for prices ranging from $8 to $15.

The company has urged consumers to stop using the menorahs and return them to a store for either a full refund or store credit. Of course, if you or your family was affected by the defective menorahs, a refund is simply not enough. Rather than returning the product for a refund, you should seek legal assistance immediately – you might have grounds to sue.
