Rooms To Go Recalls Lounge Chairs due to Lead Poisoning Risk
On February 6, 2020, Rooms To Go issued a recall for their Patmos Chaise Lounge Chairs. According to the recall – recall number 20-717 – “the paint used on the chair’s metal frame contains levels of lead that exceed federal lead paint standard.” This is alarming because it is well known that lead is toxic if it ingested; in children, specifically, ingestion can result in severe health effects.
The recall affects roughly 385 units of the product. The affected chair is available in both brown and fray colors. It is covered by a woven synthetic all-weather/resin wicker and has an adjustable backrest. The dimensions of the chair are approximately 34 inches wide, 83 inches deep, and 11 inches high.
The chairs were sold in Florida Rooms To Go and Carl’s Patio stores as well as online via www.roomstogo.com; they were sold for prices ranging from $500 to $700 from March 2017 through April 2019.
All affected consumers are being urged to contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
