Last friday, 3 people were killed in Garden Grove after a Dodge Ram truck went through a wall and landed in a resident pool.
The victims are the truck driver, Sal Fernandez, 34, the passenger, Joseph Mendoza, 28, and Michael Clugston, 39, who died when the truck struck his vehicle and caused it to hit a wall.
According to the authorities, the police captured the truck driver speeding around 2:00 a.m. and chased after him, causing it to collide with another vehicle (resulting in the death of its driver, Clugston) at Euclid Street. The first two died on the scene. The last, at UC Irvine Medical Center.
Among other damages, the truck crashed into a fire hydrant and another vehicle was involved.
The truck was pulled out of the pool, flipped over, and almost completely destroyed.
Police have not yet determined whether psychoactive substance abuse was involved in the fatal accident.
The authorities continue in the investigation.
