The truck accident took place on the 210 freeway in the San Gabriel Valley community of Monrovia a few minutes before 5:00 AM in the morning. According to news reports and investigators at the scene of the accident the semi truck carrying grapes crashed through the center divider of the freeway near Myrtle Avenue. Three lanes on the westbound side of the free way have been shut down and according to the California Highway Patrol are expected to reopen later in the morning. The driver of the truck did not sustain serious injuries. The semi truck was carrying thousands of pounds of grapes. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the accident. Drivers have been advised to take Huntington Drive, Colorado Boulevard, Duarte Road or Foothill Boulevard as alternates to the 210 freeway.
