Litigation Update

Transvaginal mesh cases are set to go to trial on the 5th of February against manufacturers. February 5, 2013 will mark the first wave of lawsuits against troubled manufacturer AMS or American Medical Systems. AMS is the maker of the once popular Monarch Sling which has been known to cause serious medical complications. Other AMS models including the Sparc Sling System are also mentioned in a number of lawsuits pending against the manufacturer. Since litigation against AMS has started you are urged to seek legal representation. In many cases if you fail to file a claim in time you will miss your opportunity to be compensated for your injuries. Generally with product liability lawsuits you have 2 years from the date of the injury to file a lawsuit. However this 2 year period can depend on a number of different factors including knowledge of when the injuries took place. According to reports there are still hundreds of thousands woman in the U.S. who are impacted by the installation of these mesh devices. Many were told lies about the benefits of AMS slings and were sold false promises. Promises of leakage stopping and other urinary issues were given to many woman, however after the implant was installed there complications only became worse. In many cases woman were required to have transvaginal takedown surgery and even then mesh particles remained inside the uterus. As a result some woman have lifelong health complications that impact there quality of life.
