Female Lakewood High School Teacher Accused of Carrying Out 3-Year Sexual Relationship with Teen Student

Former Lakewood High School teacher was hit with nine felony charges on Thursday stemming from allegations that she was engaged in a relationship with a student. According to a statement made by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office 52-year-old Mary Jahn has been accused of carrying out lewd acts with a teenage girl over the span of three years. The charges counted against her include four counts of sexual penetration by foreign object, three counts of lewd acts upon a child and two counts of oral copulation of a person under 18 The relationship began in July 2008 when the student was 15-years0old and ended in July 2011. During the time of this relationship, Jahn worked as a teacher at Lakewood Highschool. The victim, now an adult, reported the sexual abuse earlier this year. Following a thorough investigation, Jahn was arrested on September 13^th. Thursday afternoon Jahn was to be arraigned in the Long Beach branch of the L.A County Superior Court, with a bail at $750,000. Jahn currently faces a maximum possible sentence of eight years and four months in state prison if convicted. She will also be required to permanently register as a lifetime sex offender.
