Westlake Apartment Fire Leads to Serious Injury
Residents of a large four story apartment building were evacuated by the Westlake Los Angeles Fire Department as a large fire raged through their building. More than 80 firefighters responded to the call to a fire at 511 South Park View St. A residential neighborhood overlooking MaCArthur Park.
According to reports from the scene of the fire no one suffered serious bur injuries from the fire; however one person who was trapped in the apartment for a significant period of time has been treated at a local hospital for smoke inhalation injuries due to the fire.
There is no report given on the exact cause of the fire that took place around 3:30 AM; however some tenants of rebuilding have stated the cause could have been from use of candles. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department a full investigation into the cause of the fire has commenced since early this morning.
