Oregon Tool Log Splitters and Cylinder Kits Recall Class Action Lawsuit
On April 25, 2024, Oregon Tool issued a recall that affects Oregon, PowerPro, Country Tuff, and Speeco branded log spitters and cylinder kits. The affected cylinder kits include the following:
- Cylinder Kit # 622545 – Asy, 5 In Cylinder Kit with Decals
- Cylinder Kit # 622522 – Asy, 4.5 In Cylinder with Decals, Di
- Cylinder Kit # 622906 – Asy, 4 In Cylinder Kit W/ Decals
The products were available at Lowe’s, Tractor Supply Company, and other stores around the country as well as online from July 2020 through December 2023 for prices ranging from $1,500 to $2,745.
Reportedly, there have been seven reports of the rod and splitting wedge moving forward at an unexpected increased speed, although no injuries have been reported.
The company is urging all affected consumers to stop using the recalled product and contact them or their dealer to schedule a free installation of a replacement cylinder.
