On April 25, 2024, Oregon Tool issued a recall that affects Oregon, PowerPro, Country Tuff, and Speeco branded log spitters and cylinder kits. According to the recall, number 24-208, the recalled splitter’s hydraulic cylinder rod can separate from the piston and prevent the wedge from retracting; reengaging the rod to the piston can lead to the rod and wedge to move unexpectedly. This poses a risk of injury.

The recall affects approximately 29,560 units of the product.
