UC Santa Barbara Student Dies in Fall from Apartment
A 22 year old University of California Santa Barbara student has died from traumatic injuries resulting from a fall. According to local law enforcement and hospital staff the student suffered a traumatic brain injury; emergency response and hospital staff were not able to revive her. The victim of the fall was Mellissa Portillo of Los Angeles California.
According to new reports from the scene the student fell over a two story building stairway on Isla Vista Apartments at around 1:00 AM early Friday morning. The victim was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
