Big Rig Truck Accident 60 Freeway Two Killed
The deadly highway truck accident took place on the eastbound transition of the 60 freeway transition to the 70 (Chino Valley Freeway) in Pomona, San Bernardino County, California. According to news reports and California Highway Patrol investigators the accident occurred a few minutes before 9:00 in the morning during rush hour traffic. The accident involved a big rig truck and a large box truck. Two men were killed in the accident. Another seriously injured victim was airlifted to a local area hospital.
According to news testimony and photos taken from news helicopters the box truck appeared to have rear ended the big rig truck. The California Highway Patrol briefly shut down all eastbound lanes of the 60 freeway for the landing of the medical helicopter.
