On December 20, 2023, CooperSurgical, Inc. initiated a recall (number Z-1089-2024) for their global Culture Medium. The culture medium is associated with the following model numbers:

The CooperSurgical culture media is intended for the development of human embryos during the IVF process.

According to the recall, the company became aware of an increase in complaints for the three lots listed above. Culture media performance issues may reportedly lead to impaired embryo development prior to reaching the blastocyst stage.
