Pico Rivera Car Accident Three Killed – Rose Hills Road – 605
A head on collision in Pico Rivera has resulted in the tragic death of three individuals. According to information from investigators at the car accident site, the victims were ejected from the vehicle upon impact. The head on collision involved two compact vehicles and took place on Rose Hills Road, a few yards away from the 605 San Gabriel Freeway. According to Sheriff department officials two of the victims were children aged 9 and 11, the other driver was 20 years old. The names of the victims have not yet been released. Two women in the other vehicle involved in the accident survived the accident and are in stable condition.
The make and model of the two compact cars involved in the accident have not been released buy officials. The cause of the accident is under investigation by local law enforcement however investigators say that one of the vehicle was driving at high speeds when the accident took place.
Legal Implications: According to California law relatives of the deceased have the right to seek justice for the death of their loved ones via the filling of a wrongful death lawsuit. California Code of Civil Procedure regarding Wrongful Death Lawsuits states,
- “A cause of action for the death of a person caused by the wrongful act or neglect of another may be asserted by any of the following persons or by the decedent’s personal representative on their behalf: (a) The decedent’s surviving spouse, domestic partner, children, and issue of deceased children, or, if there is no surviving issue of the decedent, the persons, including the surviving spouse or domestic partner, who would be entitled to the property of the decedent by intestate succession.”
