What is Acquisition.com?

Acquisition.com is a site that offers different services designed to help business scale and increase their company value. Some of the services offered by the company include the following:

  • Educational resources, including courses, workshops, and books
  • Media/speaking engagements, specifically through different platforms like podcasts and social media, allowing to distribute information about growing a business
  • Partnerships with company founders, which provide guidance and resources to increase growth

Through these services, the company reportedly aims to make business education accessible to all.

Services Offered by Acquisition.com

The free services offered by the company include educational content, listed below:

  • Free courses on scaling, creating offers, and generating leads
  • Free workshops and video content focused on helping entrepreneurs grow their business
  • Social media content, podcasts, and blog articles with information to help businesses grow

Paid Content – paid content is limited to books. Acquisition.com’s Alex Hormozi has authored two books, including “$100M Offers” and “$100M Leads.” These books are not free, although they are offered on platforms like Amazon for accessible prices.

Acquisition.com’s Partnership Model – the company offers a partnership model, in which they partner with businesses. That is, they invest in businesses that generate $1 million to $10 million in EBITDA (or earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization). During this partnership, the company helps the business scale in exchange for equity rather than an upfront cost. In other words, businesses will need to share a percentage of future profits.

Concerns about Acquisition.com Being a Scam

Recently, there have been concerns about “bait and switch” tactics used by founder Alex Hormozi. Some people question the legitimacy of Hormozi’s marketing strategies. They suggest that the company’s free content is designed to build a following, possibly resulting in future monetization efforts. However, there have been no confirmed instances or evidence of “bait and switch” practices by the company.

What is Bait and Switch?

Bait and switch refers to the, generally, illegal action of advertising goods or service at a low price (or free) with the intention of either substituting inferior or more expensive goods/services. In other words, it is a sales tactic in which customers are attracted by the low price but then encouraged to purchase something at a higher price.

According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), “‘Bait and switch’ is the advertising of a product without the bona fide intention to sell it, for the purpose of establishing contact with a prospective customer in order to include or ‘switch’ him to purchase another product.”

Is Acquisition.com a bait and switch scam? Considering that the company offers free services to connect with businesses that they could ultimately partner with and ultimately make profits, the company may be considered a bait and switch.
