HALO Portable Power Station Recall Class Action Lawsuit
Over 5,700 units of the HALO 1000 Portable Power Stations are under recall as of August 29, 2024 according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Since 2022, there have been multiple reports of fires that were caused by the unit’s lithium-ion batteries overheating, which resulted in smoke inhalation and burn injuries. In June 2022, a 79-year old man in Bradenton, Florida died from smoke inhalation due to a fire involving one of these fire stations.
The power stations were sold by ZAGG Inc., QVC, and Alliance Consumer Group (ACG) from October 2021 through March 2022. The recalled HALO 1000 power stations have high-capacity lithium-ion battery power banks, three AC outputs, two DC outputs, a DC socket, a USB-C fast charge port, an LCD display, and a built-in floor light. There is a collapsible handle on top of the unit, which was sold in the following colors: stone gray, carbon, desert sand, midnight blue, woodland green.

For units sold by QVC, look for the item number E235474 on the bottom of the product. To prevent further injuries and death, consumers are asked to stop using their power station immediately. Please cut the power cord and contact the manufacturer for a replacement. Keep in mind that there are local and state ordinances that apply to the disposal of lithium-ion batteries, so please check with your municipal recycling center on what to do about the batteries inside the power station.
By the time a recall is issued, there are many people who are suffering from injuries and property damage due to an unsafe product accident. Manufacturers must be held accountable for their negligence, especially with products that can cause house fires. If you or your loved one was harmed by injuries from a defective HALO 100 power station, contact our law firm today.
