Woman Trapped in Metro Red Line Train at Hollywood and Western
A Southern California woman was severely injured when she became trapped under a Metro Red Line Train on early Friday morning. The unidentified woman was injured at the Hollywood and Western station location. According to metro representatives, the woman, described to be in her 40’s came into contact with the train as she was a pedestrian shortly after 8:00 a.m. The Los Angeles Fire Department quickly responded to the scene, but it wasn’t until approximately 8:36 a.m. that they were able to remove the woman. Much of the delay was due to the fact that it took over 20-minutes stop the other trains.
Though conscious throughout the ordeal, the woman is said to have suffered serious injuries from her accident, including facial and chest injuries which are life-threatening. Investigators still do not know why or how the woman came to be trapped to the train.
Metro Red Line service was temporarily delayed at the 5400 block of Hollywood Boulevard, and investigators are looking into the cause of the accident.
