Commerce Warehouse Fire Sends Toxic Fumes into the Air – Toxic Fumes Lawsuit Lawyers
A large fire at a commercial building in Commerce sent toxic smoke into the air and into the surrounding community late Saturday night, on December 14, 2024. The fire was reported at around 9:45pm on the 2900 block of Vail Avenue, located near the Garfield Avenue exit ramp just off the 5 Freeway – at the site of S. Bravo Systems manufacturing facility.
Aerial footage of the blaze shows flames consuming the building and toxic yellow smoke rising in the air. Crews on the scene believe the smoke was due to burning fiberglass.
According to a Los Angeles County Fire Department captain, there were no concerns to nearby businesses.
Shortly before noon the next day, a spokesperson for S. Bravo Systems stated that there were no employees working in the building when the fire started and that no injuries were reported.
The company is in the petroleum industry and provides secondary containment innovations to protect water, air, and soil from contaminants. Their spokesperson said that they will continue normal operations in facilities in Lexington, Tennessee.
