Etiwanda High School Principal Brian Garret Joseph Arrested for Sexual Relations with Former Minor Student
Brian Garret Joseph, the 38-year-old principal of Etiwanda High School, has been arrested for charges that he had sexual relations, including unlawful sexual intercourse with a former student when she was still a minor.
San Bernardino County sheriff officials report that although the girl has since left the school and is now 18-years-old, she was a student and a juvenile when the relationship began. Detectives learned of Joseph’s misconduct through an anonymous tip, and a search warrant was issued shortly thereafter. The arrived at Joseph’s home in the 14000 block on Parkwood Avenue in Corona at 12:05 a.m. early Tuesday morning. The crimes were investigated by the sheriff’s Crimes Against Children Detail unit. He was taken into custody at the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. He was released after posting the bail of $25,000.
Joseph immediately resigned his post as principal of Etiwanda High, and was replaced in the interim by Tom Mitchell, former principal of the school. Records indicate that Brian Garret Joseph is married, and has been a part of the school district for over nine years. He had been principal of the school for four of those years.
Etiwanda High School is a public school in Rancho Cucamonga, California and is part of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. The school has roughly 3200 students and has been recognized as a California Distinguished High School.
