AMAZON Driver Arrested for Alleged Sex Assaults while Working in LA County – Amazon Sex Abuse Lawyers
Breaking News: an Amazon driver has been arrested and charged for the sexual assault of victims while he was delivering packages. On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, the suspect was identified as 24-year-old Fernando Barreto-Hernandez of the Los Angeles area.
Reportedly, on January 21, a woman was walking near Brand Boulevard and Chevy Chase Drive (in Glendale) when she was approached by the delivery man and sexually assaulted, according to police. Barreto-Hernandez was arrested three days later for a separate incident that occurred in L.A. back in December 2024; during this incident, the deliver driver was accused of sexually assaulted a minor female while he was delivering packages for Amazon. When he appeared for court on February 21 for the L.A. assault, he was taken into custody for the Glendale assault.
The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office filed both misdemeanor and felony charges for the two cases. Barreto-Hernandez was released from custody on bond.
Reportedly, the suspect has worked for several delivery companies, including Amazon, Amazon Flex, and FedEx.
The authorities are looking for additional victims who may have not come forward yet. Anyone with additional information about the suspect or any possible victims are urged to reach out to the Glendale Police Assaults Unit.

Sexual abuse can look different from case to case. Sexual assault or sexual abuse refers to any sexual contact that occurs without express consent. When it comes to minors, any sexual contact is considered sexual abuse – as minors cannot consent to sexual contact.
Some examples of sexual abuse include the following:
- Rape and attempted rape
- Sodomy
- Penetration with objects
- Forced kissing
- Groping, fondling, any unwanted touching, etc.
- Oral sex
- Forcing the victim to perform any sexual act on the attacker
- Forcing the victim to pose for any sexually explicit photos or videos
- Making sexually explicit jokes or comments to the victim or within earshot of the victim
- And more
Without a doubt, sex abuse can result in extensive physical injuries and psychological injuries. Some examples of the injuries that could occur as a result of sexual abuse could include the following:
- Injuries to genitals
- Injuries to reproductive organs
- Unwanted pregnancies and related complications
- Fractures, lacerations, and other physical injuries resulting from struggle during abuse
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Panic, anxiety, fear, and depression
- Increased risk of self-harm
- Increased risk of substance abuse
- And more
If an Amazon delivery driver sexually abused you or a member of your family, you could have the right to file a lawsuit against Amazon. Although Amazon may argue that their drivers are independent contractors to try to get out of liability, the truth is that the company could still be liable. In the case of traditional employees, companies could be liable on the basis of negligent hiring, negligent training, and negligent supervision, for example. Employers could also be liable on the basis of vicarious liability, which states that employers could be held accountable for the actions of their employees. In cases in which Amazon classifies their delivery personnel as independent contractors, the law may actually consider the driver an employee if the company controls the drivers work (like setting routes, schedules, etc.); this means that the company could be found liable and could be sued.
For more information about your right to file a lawsuit against Amazon for sexual abuse that you suffered at the hands of an Amazon delivery driver, please do not hesitate to reach out to our law firm as soon as possible. Our legal team is ready to guide you every step of the way.

- Take note of the exact date and time of the incident
- Photograph any visible injuries
- Seek medical attention as soon as possible (if you were raped, request a rape kit be completed)
- Report the abuse to the local authorities
- Report the abuse to the company
- If there were any witnesses, gather their contact information
- If any surveillance cameras captured the incident, gather the video footage
- Seek legal help with an experienced sex abuse lawyer as soon as possible
If you decide to pursue a civil claim against the delivery driver that attacked you and their employer, you could be entitled to receive a significant amount of compensation. Although every incident is different, some of the different categories of compensation available for recovery could include the following:
- Medical expenses
- Lost income
