Precor Multi-Station Exercise Equipment Recall Class Action Lawsuit

Precor Multi-Station Exercise Equipment Recall Class Action Lawsuit sue liability incident compensation

There is a recall for approximately 21,000 Recreational Off-Road Vehicles (ROVs) by Polaris. The recall is for the RZR XP 1000 from model years 2024-2025 and the XP 4 1000 (same model years). It has been noted that heat from the seat base can damage the positive battery terminal cover, thereby exposing the positive battery post. A fire can start if the post comes into contact with nearby conductive components and causes an electrical short.

So far, there have been 3 incidents that were reported by consumers – two of them involved fires caused by the exposed battery post. Polaris is reaching out to all registered owners, but whether you are contacted or not, we suggest that you stop operating either of these vehicles immediately. According to Polaris, consumers may continue to use the ROV if the red battery positive terminal is undamaged. You can click here for the Battery Positive Terminal Cover (Red) Verification and Seat Installation Instructions, which will help you confirm if the cover is damaged.

Consumers can also contact Polaris to receive a battery cover that they can install on their own or by an authorized Polaris dealer. While this fixes the mechanical issue with the vehicle, it’s far from adequate for those who were injured in an accident. Fires have the potential to cause catastrophic injuries and property damage, and victims deserve compensation for the harm they suffered. To learn more about suing Polaris for injuries caused by a defective ROV, contact the offices of DTLA Law Group.

What to Do If You are in an Off-Road Vehicle Accident

Keep in mind that your actions following a defective product accident is the key to a successful outcome if you go ahead with a compensation claim. The steps below can help you establish a strong foundation for a lawsuit against the manufacturer:

  • Call 911 immediately if the injuries are severe, as protecting your health is the first priority.
  • If you can, use your phone to take photos or video of visible injuries, the damaged vehicle, and the accident site.
  • Obtain contact information from witnesses, who may be approached later for written statements.
  • No matter what type of injury you have, seek medical attention within 24 hours to establish medical records – the most valuable evidence for an accident injury claim.
  • Keep medical records and other evidence related to your case in a safe place.
  • Report the accident to the manufacturer, but make sure to turn down any offers to remedy the problem, like free repair services or a refund.
  • Consult a recalled product injury attorney as soon as possible.
