Babboe Cargo Bicycle Recall Class Action Lawsuit
On June 20, 2024, Babboe issued a recall for their Cargo bicycles. According to the recall, number 24-275, the frames of the recalled bicycles can crack, bend, and break; this poses a fall and injury risk to riders. The recall affects about 300 products in the U.S.
The recall specifically includes all models of the two-wheeled and three-wheeled electric and non-electric (or traditional) cargo bicycles. The cargo bikes included in the recall are intended for urban transport of light goods, children, or pets.
The recalled cargo bikes were sold at bicycle stores nationwide, including 718 Cyclery (New York City), A Street Bike Named Desire (Palo Alto, CA), La Dolce Velo (San Jose, CA), Bike Center (Santa Monica, CA), Going Dutch Bikes (Old Greenwich, CT), Aika Trading LLC (Pacific Palisades, CA), Clever Cycles (Portland, OR), Dockside Boat (Princess Anne, MD), Human Electric Hybrids LLC (Ypsilanti, MI), and PressWell (Hinsdale, IL). The cargo bicycle was available for purchase from January 2011 through March 2024 for prices ranging between $3,500 and $7,000.
According to the company, no incidents or injuries have been reported. However, they are urging all affected consumers to stop using the bicycles and contact the company for a full refund and to make arrangements for pick-up of the product.
If you or a loved one were injured because of the defective Babboe Cargo bikes, you could have the right to file a lawsuit. You could also be eligible to receive compensation for all resulting harm.
