Rockgeist BarJam Brackets Recall Class Action Lawsuit
On September 29. 2022, Rockgeist Bikepack issued a recall for their BarJam Brackets, which are designed to hold camping gear while riding. According to the recall, number 22-780, the bracket arms, which are attached to bicycle handlebars, can crack/break during use, causing the harness and gear to fall while the bicycle is in motion. This poses a crash and injury risk.
The brackets are black and have “rockgeist” in white letters. All of the brackets are included in the recall.
The recall affects approximately 420 units of the product.
The defective brackets were sold online at www.rockgeist.com for prices ranging from $135 to $205 from September 2021 to August 2022.
So far, the company has received at least 3 reports of the brackets breaking/cracking during use. Allegedly, no injuries have been reported.
The company is urging all affected consumers to stop using the recalled brackets, discard them, and contact them for free redesigned replacement brackets. Although this might seem like a good option for affected consumers, consumers who sustained injuries run the risk of losing their right to sue if they follow through with the company’s recommendations.
If you were injured due to the defective BarJam brackets recalled by Rockgeist, you could have the right to file a lawsuit. You could also be eligible to recover compensation.
