Most recently, the fourth of July is known for fireworks, and fireworks lead to firework injuries.  While this time of year is a time to celebrate, there are nearly 10,000 firework injuries every year, 69 percent of which occur on July 4^th.  These injuries are also most prevalent in children under 15.  These injuries are usually caused by amateurs, and are generally a result of:

• Rockets (900 instances)
• Sparklers (1100 instances)
