A shooting incident on a Greyhound bus in Oroville, which is approximately 65 miles north of Sacramento, left at least one person dead and several others injured. The incident was reported after 7:30pm on Wednesday. According to 911 calls, the suspect was shooting inside the bus, which was parked at an ampm. When police arrived, they found five people shot. The shooter has since been identified as Asaahdi Coleman, 21-years-old, with a juvenile criminal record. According to police, Coleman can be considered a transient, with a last known address in Sacramento. Coleman has a warrant in Alameda County for possession of a firearm and is wanted by police. Even with this history, he was allowed to purchase a ticket and board the bus.<\/p>\n

Without a doubt, the shooting is a tragedy. However, it highlights the risks that passengers face whenever they opt for ground transportation with a bus company like Greyhound instead of other transportation that is known for strict security (like air travel, for example).
