Kevin Hernandez, a 23 years old man shot and killed another man whose identification has not been publicly released outside a hookah lounge near UC Riverside.

The shooter was arrested in the area when the authorities were searching. They found him in possession of a gun and with blood on his clothes (probably from the victim).

According to detectives, Hernandez had an altercation with the victim before he was shot in a University Avenue parking lot at around 1:10 a.m.

Several reports of shooting in the area were received. The man died at the scene, amidst the aid of paramedics.

This is the third shooting in a row in Riverside, the second fatal and first non-police, as police shot a man who collided with their patrol car near a mall on University Avenue. The day after this incident, another man was killed at gunpoint at the hands of the police allegedly possessing a gun.

As for Hernandez, he remains in custody without bail, while authorities continue to investigate the case. He is expected to appear in court next Wednesday.
