Beverly Hills police officer Jeffrey Sweet was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he crashed his pickup truck into a house late Tuesday night. The Accident occurred in Simi Valley, California at around 10:20 p.m. as Sweet was driving eastbound on Royal Avenue at the intersection of Blackstone Avenue.
The 42-year-old Sweet is a resident of Simi Valley, and was off-duty at the time of the accident. The Simi Valley police department arrested Sweet after he demonstrated signs of being under the influence. He was taken to Simi Valley Hospital after complaining of pain, and was booked at Ventura County Jail shortly thereafter.
While luckily Sweet was the only individual injured in the crash, his accident caused significant property damage. His white truck hit a power pole, then crashed into a retaining wall, then flipped onto its top damaging parts of a home.
