Jason Buccat is a distinguished litigator with expertise spanning employment and criminal law.
He also possesses extensive experience in personal injury, family law, civil rights, general civil
litigation, and mediation. Mr. Buccat is committed to delivering top-tier quality while
fiercely advocating for each of his clients. He brings his legal passion and successful
strategies to the DTLA Law Group.
Previously, Mr. Buccat served as the Managing Attorney at a boutique law firm in Culver City and
a mid-sized plaintiff’s-side firm in Los Angeles. He has run his own practice and now leads his
team at DTLA Law. Mr. Buccat has honed his legal skills as a dedicated advocate for his clients,
effectively engaging with fellow attorneys, judges, arbitrators, and mediators.
He has achieved success in civil cases, securing both plaintiff monetary awards and defense
verdicts. Additionally, Mr. Buccat has earned acquittals for his clients in criminal defense.
Mr. Buccat has had the privilege of serving the community by representing at-risk youth and
their families through the Thomas & Mack Legal Clinic, earning a CALI Award for his efforts.
He has also worked as a Congressional extern for United States Senate Majority Leader Senator
Harry Reid and as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Frank J. Ochoa. Practicing since 2008,
Mr. Buccat is a member of CAALA.
Mr. Buccat graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with Provost’s Honors,
and earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology. He received his Juris Doctor
degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas – Boyd School of Law. During his time at Boyd,
he was a member of the Society of Advocates Moot Court Competition Team, President of both
the Minority Law Students Association and Asian Pacific American Law Students Association,
and Vice President of the Saltman Dispute Resolution Society. Mr. Buccat was awarded third-best
brief and was a regional semi-finalist in the National Appellate Advocacy Competition.
