According to Burbank Police Sgt. Emil Brimway, at approximately 5:00 a.m. this Monday, the officers went to a parking lot at Quality Inn at 2255 N. Buena Vista St., due to the report of an elementary school-aged toddler wandering there.
They found the kid and also the man, who was inside a Honda Accord. After the interaction, the man was shot by what Brimway referred to as “at least one officer”. He was later taken to a hospital, where he finally died.
Although the exact reason for the shooting has not been clarified, the authorities report that they found a loaded semi-automatic handgun at the scene.
Emil Brimway refused to identify the man and said they are investigating a probable relationship between the kid (who, as the police officers, resulted uninjured) and the man.
