Winnetka Car Accident One Killed 5-9-13 – Los Angeles Valley
According to investigators at the scene of the devastating three car collision and local news reports from the Los Angeles Times, a man was killed and four others seriously injured in a car accident early Thursday morning. The accident took place at the 19000 block of West Roscoe Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley community of Winnetka at around 1:30 AM Thursday morning. Police have yet to release the identification of the deceased man but have described him as a Granada Hills resident.
Details of the Accident: According to an Los Angeles Police Department news briefing on the incident, A Mercedes heading eastbound on Roscoe swerved to avoid the Pontiac and collided with a Sports Utility Vehicle, a Nissan Pathfinder causing it overturn. The Mercedes Benz continues eastbound and collided with the Pontiac. The driver and two passengers in the Pontiac sustained serious injuries and taken to local area hospitals. The driver of the SUV that rolled over sustained only minor injuries.
Possible: Legal Implications: The cause of the accident and whether drugs or alcohol consumption was a factor has yet to be determined. In the state of California family members of the deceased have the right to file a wrongful death cause of action against negligent parties who caused the death of a family member.
